Instructions for the Oban Ball 2011.

The Ball for Members of the Argyllshire Gathering, their families and guests will be held from 10pm to 6am on Thursday 25th August, 2011. Tickets are available to those 17 years and over.

DRESS: Gentlemen will wear Highland Evening Dress, Mess Dress, Hunt Coat or White Tie. No Dinner Jackets will be admitted.
Ladies will wear full length ball dresses (to the floor, all the way round). No stiletto heels admitted.
It is the Vouching Member’s responsibility to ensure that their party is aware of the dress code. Those INCORRECTLY DRESSED WILL BE TURNED AWAY.

DANCES: The programme will include Duke of Perth, Hamilton House, Eightsome and Foursome reels, Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Machine Without Horses, Mairi’s Wedding, Reel of the 51st and Speed the Plough. Dance cards will be provided. For the complete programme please see separate page.

MUSIC: Music will be provided byTHE HIGHFIELD BAND and two distinguished pipers: Angus MacColl (a former Gold Medal winner and Tutor) and Ewan Dewar (Pipe Major of the Oban Pipe Band)

DINNER: A pre-Ball dinner may be booked at the Gathering Restaurant between 8.00 and 9.30pm, using the primary white/yellow voucher. The restaurant has room for 70. The £20 cost of 2 course Dinner is not included in the Ball ticket price, and does not include drinks.

BREAKFAST: Breakfast will be served in the Gathering Restaurant from 2.30am to 5am. Canapes will be available in the Drawing Room at 11pm.

DRINKS: Champagne, Cava wine, and soft drinks are included. Bar service is additional.
